Application of TDCR-Geant4 modeling to activity standardization

چکیده
The LNE-LNHB, in charge of the French standards for radionuclide metrology, develops primary measurement methods intended for the calibration of secondary measuring instruments, such as used in hospitals, to determine the activity of radiopharmaceuticals injected into patients. The triple-to-double coincidence ratio (TDCR) method, based on liquid scintillation counting, is widely implemented for radionuclides which are pure beta and electron capture emitters. This technique requires the mixing of the radioactive solution with a scintillator cocktail. When preparing samples, the existence of physicochemical processes such as chemi-luminescence can require to delay the measurements to achieve the necessary stability conditions, which is not always compatible for short halflife radionuclides. To avoid this constraint, a new approach using Cerenkov radiation as a method of light production is presented in this paper, applied to the standardization of the short-lived radiopharmaceutical C (T1/2 ~ 20 min). The method is based on comprehensive modeling of the TDCR counter (the experimental equipment) using a Geant4 toolkit in order to calculate the detection efficiency.

Evaluation of Interferences on Measurements of 90 Sr / 90 Y by the TDCR Čerenkov Counting Technique
Over the last few decades many techniques have been developed for determination of Sr/Y in the environment. Čerenkov counting technique (developed in the 1960s) is widely used, but can be further developed by the application of emerging technologies. For example, it is believed that the application of the triple-to-double coincidence ratio (TDCR) liquid scintillation counting method can be used...
متن کاملFunctional analysis of the tdcABC promoter of Escherichia coli: roles of TdcA and TdcR.
The efficient expression of the tdc operon of Escherichia coli requires the products of two regulatory genes, tdcR and tdcA. We have identified the transcription site of tdcR by primer extension mapping and established the translation start site of TdcR by mutational analysis of its reading frame. In a tdcR tdcABC deletion strain, tdcR+ promoted high-level LacZ expression from a lambda tdcAB-la...

In the framework of the European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP), the Joint Research Project MetroFission has a dedicated work package for the development of a portable Triple-to-Double-Coincidence-Ratio (TDCR) system dedicated to in-situ activity measurements of low-energy beta emitters arising from the operation of the next generation of nuclear power plants. In the design phase of the NP...

A solution containing (68)Ge in equilibrium with its daughter, (68)Ga, has been standardized for the first time at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) using 3 liquid scintillation-based techniques: live-timed 4πβ -γ anticoincidence (LTAC) counting, the Triple-to-Double Coincidence Ratio (TDCR) method, and (3)H-standard efficiency tracing with the CIEMAT(1)/NIST (CNET) meth...
متن کاملApplication of Genetic Programming to Modeling and Prediction of Activity Coefficient Ratio of Electrolytes in Aqueous Electrolyte Solution Containing Amino Acids
Genetic programming (GP) is one of the computer algorithms in the family of evolutionary-computational methods, which have been shown to provide reliable solutions to complex optimization problems. The genetic programming under discussion in this work relies on tree-like building blocks, and thus supports process modeling with varying structure. In this paper the systems containing amino ac...
